UKFT launched Futures to promote careers in the fashion and textile industry

UKFT has announced the launch of UKFT Future, a brand new platform to promote careers in the UK’s fashion and textile industry. Developed with the generous support of Textile Livery Group, the platform allows users to explore opportunities and find their way within the industry.

Simple statistics and facts help explain why a career in this diverse and valuable industry is such a great option. Content can be found within three main sections of the site: Get Inspired, Get Information and Engage.

The UKFT Futures platform is open to a wide range of users including new entrants, career changers, careers advisers and academics. It shows that the platform is designed to help anyone interested in exploring career opportunities in the fashion and textile industry. It was developed with the help of Textile Livery Group.

Get Inspired lets users discover stories and profiles from across the industry; Get information where users can explore industries, sub-sectors and job roles within; And Engaging helps users find their way into the industry using expert guides and resources

Users of the platform will be new entrants, those who want to advance their careers or find a new direction, those who want to turn hobbies into careers, parents, career counselors and educators. The community will receive regular newsletters and social media activity that provides comprehensive information, advice and guidance on entering and entering fashion and textiles, as well as highlighting opportunities within the sector, UKFT said in a press release.

A campaign is underway to attract new talent to the industry by helping businesses and training providers promote opportunities to the UKFT Futures community. This may include employment, apprenticeships, internships or other vocational training opportunities.

UKFT will be promoting Futures and the industry across the UK this autumn in a series of physical, regional careers fairs. Employers and training providers will be encouraged to promote local jobs and training opportunities alongside regional events. The platform will continue to grow in collaboration with industry and key partners, creating new content and promoting opportunities across the industry.

This exciting new platform presents a great opportunity for the industry to showcase the amazing things it does and the brilliant range of careers within it,” said Adam Mansell, CEO UKFT.
